My client Kate sent me another great top to quilt for her. It's a fun design called Interrupted Log Cabin which can be found in the book Quilt with Tula and Angela.
It's certainly an interesting modern design that would look great in practically any color palette.
Kate chose the Modernish pantograph which suited the linear style blocks well. Quilters Dream 80/20 batting in Natural along with Glide Mercury thread for the top and So Fine Brown Sugar rounds out the other materials used to finish this one.
Kate always takes advantage of my trimming service and this time Maverick felt the need to inspect my work and help lay it out on the floor.
Here's the glamor shot! I really love the pops of Blue and Teal she added to the piecing.
The wind decided to be a little challenging that day.
It's a good sized quilt, measuring 80" x 80". It was a Christmas gift for her daughter.
The backing is a fun New York city scape print she purchased at City Quilter. They closed the brick and mortar store a few years back but they still have an online store.
The sun shining through from the white strips on the front look like streets themselves.
Here you can see the details of the fabric. If you have anyone with ties to New York City, this online store is the only place where you'll find fabrics like this.
This was another fun project to quilt for Kate.
I know another quilt will be on it's way to me to stitch soon. I can't wait to see what it will be.

It's really pretty. I like the teal accent color in it. And thanks for the tip about backing fabric from NYC.
