My friend Susan's almost 4 year old grandson requested a new, not babyish, quilt for his bed and picked out the colors himself. It's a big quilt, finishing at 94" square so that was a lot of green and white pieces. The small squares are 2" finished.
Loaded and ready to go. It's a good thing I have a 12 foot frame so I'm able to handle the bigger tops with no problems.
Another rainy day meant indoor photos. Luckily I have a good size great room and have enough floor space to spread this out after I move a bit of furniture back and out of the way.
Such pretty texture and just the perfect amount of weight with Quilters Dream 80/20 batting.
Susan wanted a simple panto design so she chose Stars and Loops. The tread was Glide Coin for the top and Glide Black for the back.
One of the quilt inspectors had to test this one out and give his approval.
The backing is a cute flannel construction vehicle print. Perfect for a little boy who loves trucks.
We were both happy with the result and her grandson was over the moon when he finally received his big boy quilt.
Thank you Susan for letting me quilt for you. I can't wait to see what's next.

Whoa. That's sure a large quilt for a "big boy" quilt! He'll be able to use it for decades! The color combo is unusual, and I love it. So glad it fit your quilting frame. You did a lovely job with it.
