My Bella quilt - the beginning

Happy Mother's Day!
While the weather in many other parts of the country is beautiful and people can enjoy lots of time in the beautiful outdoors, here today it is colder and still really windy so I'll be staying in.

After a lovely breakfast made by my family of Belgium waffles with fruit and whipped cream and a side of bacon, I've decided today I'm going to just do something for me.  No working on customer quilts, no making masks for others, no finishing up a quilt that will be donated.  Instead I'm going to finally cut into this beautiful stack of fabrics and get started on a quilt for our bed.
Yes it's something like the shoemaker who's kids have no shoes.  While I've made some cuddle quilts that we use regularly, I've yet to make a quilt for our room. I've been wanting to do some master bedroom redecorating and the colors will be pulled from these fabrics so it's way past time to get started on it.
The fabric line is Bella by Amanda Murphy and I've loved it ever since I first laid eyes on it. Way back then I even picked out the pattern I was going to use so that I could get all the fabrics that I needed.  I've had the fabrics for a really long time and before I finish it, I'll find the receipt and see just how long these have been waiting.
Cutting into these and getting the pieces prepped will certainly make me happy.  Whatever you are doing today, I hope it will be fun.
