For this one I used a fat quarter bundle that I won.
I used the fast but fabulous Yellow Brick Road pattern by Atkinson Designs.
This is how it looks as a completed top, so different from the pattern's sample.
Unfortunately this one isn't quilted and finished yet because it is a bit bigger than I want to try and quilt on my Lucy. Now that the upgrade to Penelope was done yesterday, this one can get quilted up quickly. The top and backing are hanging on the railing all ready to go.
I've really enjoyed making these 3 quilts for those in need and I promise to do one more post with the final reveals soon. A huge thanks goes out to Sarah for organizing this awesome charity quilt drive. Without her tireless work, so many quilts wouldn't be on their way to keeping others toasty warm and wrapped in comfort.
looks great. love yellow brick road. can't wait to see you try quilting it.
ReplyDeleteThat looks great. I can't wait to see how you and Penelope finish it off.
ReplyDeleteThis pattern works up so quickly and different look with the fabrics/color used. Very yummy and sure you will finish it off in no time.
ReplyDeleteYBR pattern is one of my favs. I don't usually add a border and still a good size and easy to kwilt in my Bernina. Congrats in the quilts you have done for Hands2Help
ReplyDeleteI think I need to try this pattern out - very cute! And I can't wait to see how the "new'" Penelope does with the quilting!
ReplyDeleteIt is so wonderful you are 'paying it fwd' with your winnings, this will make someone very happy! And a great way to get familiar with Penelope :-)
ReplyDeleteThe fabrics work great with the YBR pattern. Someone is going to love this quilt.
