Today's the day!
I'm heading out shortly on my much awaited road trip to pick up my new-to-me Voyager 17 machine and frame. I'm really glad we postponed for one day, the weather here is anything but nice and trying to carry and load it all in a downpour would have been horrible. Plus traveling back to my sister's house in sopping wet clothes would have driven me crazy.
On the way to said sister's casa, I'll stop off and visit with my Mamacita and drop off a few things to her. We may even all join up for vittles this evening (they live near each other now).
Then bright and early tomorrow morning we'll be on our way.
This is the sort of scenery we'll be seeing as we travel through the rolling hills if Pennsylvania on our way to my new baby's current residence.
Once she is all packed in the Vehicle de Transport (aka hubby's SUV) we'll meander our way back north. Along the way we'll likely stop off at a few of these types of places.
A person can't be in Amish country without checking out the local quilter's hot spots. Right? RIGHT!
I'm just going to be really good and not go overboard. I'm spending enough mullah this weekend as it is. Plus I have more than enough projects and stash to keep me busy for quite a while. I certainly don't need any more at the moment. But I'm also not going to deny that there might be one or two little things that call my name so loudly that I can't ignore them.
So whether you are hitting the road yourself this weekend or just sticking close to home, I hope that you enjoy a few terrific days ahead. I know I'm going to miss my babies something fierce but the excitement I'll have when I see my new toy and the enjoyment I'll get from her once she is here and set up will help erase those memories quickly.
Wish us a speedy trip, no detours and no traffic and I promise to post pictures as soon as I am able. And thanks so much to everyone that has sent your congratulations, your advice and all your excitement for me as I embark on this newest chapter in my quilting life.
