Here is the last batch of pictures that I took at the Quiltfest of NJ show on Friday.
There was a grouping of two color quilts in Red and White.
Do your eyes get a bit wonky looking at this one?
You don't immediately see the circles in this one until you stand back from it a bit.
This one gives me a headache when I look at it now, even just the picture of it!
Again another stunner full of absolutely jaw dropping detail.
I love the look of this section.
This one is made of diamonds but because of the fabrics, the diamonds are harder to see.
This is the same quilt done in different fabrics. The diamonds are much more recognizable. It is a perfect example of how the choice of fabrics really affects a quilt's appearance.
This was the Best of Show and it rightly deserved that honor. The pictures just don't do it justice. I believe the notes said that the maker spent something like 300 hours piecing and painting it, 200 hours quilting it and another 50 hours adding the 5,000+ beads.
I did the best I could getting a few close up pictures.
Can you just imagine creating all that depth and detail? I can't.
This quilt is truly a once in a lifetime work of art and the maker I'm sure is very proud of it.
This quilt show certainly didn't disappoint and you can actually see all of these quilts and many more because the Philadelphia show in September is this same one. So if you are in that area in the fall, you should check them out yourself. I promise you will come away breathless at seeing all the gorgeous creations in person.
